Trees Forever

Trees Forever is a program that plants trees in the Greenfield area once a year.  Normally the trees are planted on the first Saturday in May. 

Why should you plant a tree, well here is a few reasons.  

1.  Trees conserve energy in the summer.   Cut air conditioning costs by 15% - 35%.

2.  Trees Clean our air.

3.  Trees encourage natural habitat to surround our daily existence. 

4.  Trees increase the value of homes and businesses up to 15% or more.

5.  Trees help clean our rivers and streams and reduce runoff pollution.

6.  Trees among our homes and businesses conserve energy in the winter, cutting heating bills 10-20%.

7.  Trees fight global warming by removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, and by cutting our use of air conditioners and heaters, they reduce     burning of fossil fuels.

8.  Trees add beauty, grace and seasonal colors to our neighborhoods and enhance outdoor living.

9.  Trees can be an enjoyable and healthy family and community-building activity.

If you plant a new tree, the trees should be watered 5-10 gallons of water per week.
